I hadn't been to a funeral in a long while, thankfully, but I remember the wakes I attended when I was a kid, and this was mostly my impression. And I was always doing what Barbara does here, hiding behind a book.
I'm so happy you like this :). I had this story playing out in the back of my brain for a while, but thought there was no interest in kidfics in this fandom. Now that people started to enable me, I'm having a blast. A slightly angsty blast, but a blast nonetheless. :D
