Amazing as always! Your writing, the characterization, everything! Also, the process of Gordon trying to deal with the death of his wife, Jimmy getting so upset when he can't tell anyone the truth about Batman, and Babs bottling up everything inside is so painful, but so realistic too. It makes my heart go out to this broken family.
The end of the chapter makes me especially emotional because, of course, Batman would blame himself for not saving Barbara in time, despite the fact that it's really no one's fault (although Gordon is most likely blaming himself for the exact same thing). But hopefully he'll be the one to help ease some of the commissioner's pain, and maybe Gordon can help Bruce deal with some of his issues while he's at it. Those two definitely need each other more than ever!
