Jim Kirk feels at home in every AU. He's like: "Oh, Regency AU? So, I'll be a Navy Captain, clearly, and I shall be a lovable rake, but not a rake really. More of a shovel than a rake. Shovels are useful and you can beat people to death with them."

McCoy does not approve of any AU sheanigans. Except that he would look dashing in that Navy uniform, you know he would.

No, don't mind me, I'm just losing my mind. Well, actually, it was mine to give away in the first place, I just don't remember who has it now. All in a day's work.

WE ENCOURAGE THIS. TO THE POINT I WISH TO OFFER YOU LIKE, ENCOURAGEMENT.

My encouragement is a scene I am writing. It involves a she-version of one of the boys and knee-high-boots only sex.

Encouragement? It's brain-stoppage at it's best, not encouragement.

My fic is McCoy/Chapel, pert the meme prompt, but I might at one point write the slash take on this, because YAYZ SHINY (my brain is like that all. the. time.)

heeee! This post makes me very happy - and made me laugh. I totally see Jim Kirk as a loveable-not-a-rake-more-a-shovel guy and McCoy not approving of the AU shenanigans! :D

there is fic (http://community.livejournal.com/st_xi_kink/7586.html?thread=19676578#t19676578). They are taking over. If I don't come back from Regency era by the end of the month, send help.

Preferably Karl Urban as he was in Pathfinder. Yes, that should do nicely.

I should say something clever about archetypal charcters transcending genre and whatnot, but I'm just going to go ahead and grin like a loon :D

...except for that McCoy/Chapel Civil War AU that one time which was OS AWESOME OMG.

But yes. I wholeheartedly approve of the image of Karl Urban in a naval uniform. YUM.

The one with Christineas Mrs. Dixon? I loved it so much! (If there was another one, WANT).

McCoy is just being difficult, and grumbling, a lot. Maybe his cravat is on too tight. I can fix that. No, really, I can.

Even despite the sad fact that I'd pay money to see Karl in anything (I might even actually go to a romantic comedy, if he was in it. I just hope he won't.), naval uniform? I'm SO there.

...and I'd pay extra to see him in nothing at all. Preferably while wet.

(shallow fangirl iz shallow)

eta: yes, same American Civil War AU. I so need to re-read that.

Speaking as someone who had just spent a sleepless night watching all his Xena episodes, Doom, and Pathfinder (GODS, that one was tragic), I completely relate.

And also, need to get some sleep. Because I have to type every word four times before I get it right. I blame Karl. I blame him for a lot of things, that magnificent bastard.

Yeah, I've heard :D. (I bought this book, 'Literary Galaxy of Star Trek', because I'm a huge dork. It's awesome.)

Huh, and now I kind of want fic and a Navy AU. I think there was one with Pirates, at least... *goes off looking*
