Picspam: Blue in CSI:NY 1x01:Blink

The first season of CSI:NY remains my favourite, very much due to its colouring and mood: blues and grays and blues and browns and blues. Every CSI show has its own palette of colours, and this is not an exception. What I love most however, is the gothic feel, the melancholy and nostalgia; the first season delt with loss and grief, shot not-so-soon after 9/11, was the first to get permission to film at Ground Zero. No one sleeps in this New York, and everybody has past to deal with. This has remained the core of the show, but with time we lost the dimmed colours and the sadness.

I love atmosphere in the first season but I think I like the whole show more later. You know, with more Flack... and... more Flack.

The first season was great! And even though now, the recurring plots and some of the characters' storylines are just like meh, I still really like the individual plot for each episode, ie. the episode about electronic waste in China and Naaaazis. Yeap. IMO, still the better CSI of all three.

I love this show.. and I feel like the colors in the show keep getting brighter.. almost like New York is coming back to it's glory after 9/11 if that makes sense.

Gorgeous picspam! I loved the first season, I couldn't agree more with what you said. I felt that it really focused on what made New York the city it is, rather than the glitz and glamour of the later seasons.
