(I am kind of lost in the Kirk/McCoy part of the fandom. For the first time ever I'm into a pairing that's so popular I don't run out of the fics to read...)
Btw, I sometimes think that Persuasion is my favourite Austen. I go between Pride and this, depending on my mood, but both are among my most-often-read-books.
Be warned. This fic, imo, is awesome, but alas unfinished. Unfinished right when it starts getting really good, too: Persuasion Kirk/Spock. I knew your interest lay more in Kirk/McCoy, but I also know Austen's your cuppa ;o)
I'm actually usually into popular pairings (though not always fandoms. Have had problems getting Jane Austen/Godfather/Sound of Music fic, sometimes). Wayne/Gordon is a complete aberration for me, in that regard!
I love Persuasion. I think P&P is the "best", but it's never been my favorite. I think S&S is the most unpolished, but it has a special place in my heart. As does Emma. OMG I CAN'T CHOOSE!
At least I can say that Mansfield Park and Northanger Abbey are my least favourites (even though I still love them). I do have this huge problem with naming my favourite in Austen, because I go from one to another depending on my mood. It's usually between P&P and Persuasion, but sometimes it's Emma, and sometimes it's S&S (especially considering that Knightley and Brandon fall very easily into my very favourite characters ever).
I do read Kirk/Spock, it's just that post-Reboot I have this insane love for McCoy. I liked him a lot in TOS, but add Karl Urban and I was sold completely and totally. And fandom supplies me with enough fics for Kirk/McCoy that I don't really have time to look for other pairings, which I would otherwise. Maybe once things slow down in a year or so ;D. But thanks for the link. I'm just making my way veeery slowly through the st_xi_kink. It's awesome :D (And, incidentally, I'm writing a McCoy/Chapel regency fic there... I'll repost it at some point, once I'm done and it undergoes beta ;D)
He always looks hot, but there's something about putting a man in Regency clothes that just makes him even more desireable, right?
