Corner of the World by
While fixing canon to fit the Clex relationship, Sera also creates another Smallville, one where Lex has friends and Clark has to deal with not only being an alien, but also being gay. Whitney doesn't die, Lana has depths, Chloe has significant-others, Dominic is not that much of an asshole, Lionel is just as much of an asshole, if not more. And there are more original characters than you can shake a stick at. But these OCs? They belong in Smallville, they belong in that world, so much so, that when I watch the show, I'm always waiting for them to pop on screen.
Angst, plot, character development, epic sized story. (still in progress even) What more can you ask for? ;-)
I feel like I'm trying to sell it to the highest bidder. *giggle* But really, it is *that* good, and you should read it ASAP.

He took one of the most powerful Sith Lords, Exar Kun and made him a total idiot who probably couldn't count to four. The holes in his reasoning are blatantly obvious, and yet, as previous story says, he managed to build his own empire from a scratch.
Also, he made Wedge Antilles a general (which Wedge previosly declined in few books, there was the whole point made by two other writers that he prefers to stay a pilot) and introduced Qwi Xux...
Don't let me start on her. She was that *brilliant* scientist who designed Death Star... and she thought it was to be used to destroy planets were no one lived, to get to the core of the minerals... why was it called Death Star, then? Fner.
Then, KJA and his wife, Rebecca Moesta, had written a series of books about Han and Leia's kids. *That* was a nightmare. Even introducing our own special SW Mary Sue, Tenel Ka, Hapanian Princess (heir of the Empire of, like, 60 planets), Dathomirrian Witch (bunch of Wicca-wannabies, they are. Kinda.), love interest to our Jacen Solo but pretty much loved by everyone, sporting a special bond with Luke Skywalker and building her Very Special Lightsaber Like No Other.
I'm mostly bitter because of Wedge/Qui relationship, though. Stackpole and Allston had to tidy up the mess later...
