Okay, I don't usually do it, but I need to get it out, or I'll explode.

 

So.

My parents are divorced. Since November. That's good, actually, cuz living with them *both* under the same roof was tiring. I was always the one who had to choose sides. Now I don't have to.

I don't have to, because my father lives in Gdansk now. It's on the other side of the country.

The thing is, he doesn't call. He doesn't write, he doesn't try to contact with me. I am the only child and I always was a sort of 'Daddy's girl'.

Now I'm apparently not.

Last time he called was on my birthday in May. Actually, my birthday was 30 May, and he called on 2 June, but who cares...

I do.

I do care, cuz in May I was graduating from high school, and having finals.

I care because through June and November I was trying to get to the universities, and I failed on one, and get to the another.

And he hasn't called.

I don't know if he doesn't care, or what.

I know he *has* my number. Maybe he doesn't want to call home, doesn't want to speak to my mum. Maybe. But he has my cell phone number.

And since June he didn't call. Not once.

Well, he called today.

I answered.

And he wanted to talk to my mom about some post that got to him on his old adress, that's our adress.

 

And I don't know if I'm more disappointed, miserable or furious.

 

Just needed to get it out, sorry.

I know it's hard, but did you tell him it upset you?

I'm so sorry love, and I'm glad you got it out. Exploding Noelia is bad. I agree with Phen. I'd tell him - and it doesn't have to be a big emotional confrontation - "I miss you and it stinks when you don't call." and how ever you feel. Write him a note if it helps.

He may be going through some weird post divorce stuff, but that does not mean he is given a free pass to misteat you.

I had to do some similar stuff with my dad who would ignore me when I was right there - invite me out to lunch and then add a friend at the last mintue so he could keep talking church business, or worse yet, the lunch would turn into an impromptu counselling session with me sitting right there, mortified and furious.

Men can be oblivious. So sometimes you got to knock them in the head w/ a two by four. Metaphorically, of course. I was terrified, but I told my dad, who was defensive at first, and then really tried.

Yes, I did tell.
It was very awkward and he promised to call, or come to Krakow to visit me.
We'll see.

Exploding Noelia *is* very bad. There are nasty bits everywhere, and it's not a pretty sight.

Well, I did tell him what I wanted to say. I just hope it helps. I just hope... I think I hope he's going to call at least from time to time to *me*, to talk, not just to check on *his* things.

And sometimes, just sometimes, you can try to work on it and try to convince some authors to write more of your favourite fic.

Goddess. I'm writing smutathon entry and it goes Giles/Xander on me!
And when I start again, and remove Xander from the story, it wants to get Giles/Spike. And when I start *again* and don't allow Spike to appear, Wesley and Ethan are both trying to get in.

I just give up.

And, no, I wasn't talking to you at all. Who? Me? To you? Nah...
